Santa by Steam - Bodmin and
Selected Dates in December
Join Santa aboard his steam hauled train for a one hour journey. Whilst
on board the Elves will invite you to visit Santa in his
magical grotto, where all children will receive a special present!

Fowey Christmas Market
Fowey Christmas Market is one of Cornwall’s most well-known Christmas
events with a rich history of providing 10,000 visitors with quality
locally produced food and drink and festive gifts.We carefully hand pick

Liskeard Lights Up
Liskeard’s annual winter carnival is always a magical evening. There
will be a procession of lanterns followed by the switching on of the

This festive event, will give you the perfect opportunity to get into
the festive spirit and soak up the stunning surroundings as well as find
some truly unique Christmas gifts.Heligan’s ethos for showcasing local
businesses will be felt strongly during this time as they invite over 70
local producers, artisans, creators and makers to come and trade under a
canopy of festive joy, with marquees in the coach park, plant sales,
picnic and ticketing areas.
Visitors are invited to browse the traders' wares to find something
unique for that special person – and with well over 70 stalls, there's
certainly plenty on offer including food and drink produce, crafts,
jewellery, art and more.
A warm welcome awaits you in the Heligan Kitchen where you can tempt
your taste buds with delicious seasonal treats from the Heligan Bakery,
enjoy a mulled wine and soak up the Christmas atmosphere.
Don’t forget to pop into the award winning Lobbs Farm Shop on your way
back to your car, to pick up some of the best food from the countryside
and why not order your Christmas turkey whilst you’re there.

Heligan by Night
This December, step into ‘Heligan
by Night’ and experience the art of illumination as internationally
renowned light artist Ulf Pedersen reveals the night time magic of
Heligan’s historic plantings. 12-15, 19-22, 27-29 Dec, 2-5 Jan
On the second Thursday in December, Lostwithiel lights up with its
Annual Dickensian Evening. The ever popular festive event has been
running for 16 years. The streets are filled with crowds who come to
enjoy the old fashioned traditional Christmas experience with a
The evening officially starts at 6pm with a lantern parade down Fore St
led by the Town Band and local choirs, this will meander through the
town arriving back at the Church for a final song. Following on from
6.30pm we'll have Choirs and bands all evening in the Church.
There will be further music, choirs and performances all over town
throughout the evening keeping you entertained.
Shops in the town will be open late and shopkeepers dress up in
Victorian garb, you'll also find Vintage, Antiques, Craft and gift
stalls in the Church Rooms and Drill Hall.For children there's an old
fashioned merry-go-round fairground ride sited in Parade Square and a
traditional Santa's grotto (with Santa in green robes rather than red!)
is a must visit, look out for the secret entrance in Fore St.
There are plenty of refreshments available, with restaurants and cafes
open all evening, lots of street food including a hog roast and hot
chestnuts from the local YFC, wood fired Pizzas named especially for
Dickensian evening, hot pots and festive sausages. Of course there's
lashings of mulled wine or mulled cider available too.
Once the festivities finish up around 9pm ish, the evening continues
with live music and entertainment in local pubs and clubs.

Lights Switch On
The 2019 ‘switch-on’ will be held on Saturday 15th December 2019 at
There will be an open-air Carolaire service at the entrance to the North
Quay. The ‘Carolaire Choir’, comprising of the Mousehole Male Voice
Choir, Members of the Mousehole Methodist Church and friends from the
community together with the Pendeen Silver Band, will lead the community
singing. This year the lights will be switched on by Reverend Julyan

New Years Eve Celebrations
Looe is now rated as one of the most popular venues in UK for New Years
Eve celebrations. Come in Fancy Dress. Fireworks at midnight on the
beach. P.S. Taxis are available but need to be booked well in advance.
