Every Sunday Looe Lions Car Boot Sale @ West Wayland
The Looe Lions Car Boot Sale takes place every Sunday morning (subject to weather conditions) throughout the summer months (June to September) mid way between Looe & Polperro at West Wayland next to the camping and caravaning holiday camp. The official open hours are 08:00 to 12:00 although many regular sellers arrive from 06:30. Open Sundays Gribbin Daymark Open Days
Visible from land and sea, Gribbin Head is Fowey's sentinel. It is a striking landmark due to its red and white daymark tower. The daymark has sat upon the Gribbin since 1832, providing a navigational aid to mariners. Walk out to the Gribbin Headland, take a picnic or stop off at Polridmouth Beach perhaps. National Trust volunteers will have the Daymark open so you can climb up the steps to the top. The fantastic views from the top are ample reward for the climb! Open Sundays from 7 July to 15 September (11am - 5pm) £1 adults; NT members and children free.

The Looe Carnival is the highlight of the Looe Lion’s event calendar with a week of events that cater for the interests of all ages & interests.
 
5 August Classic Car Show and Summer Fayre at Mount Edgcumbe Country Park
Cremyll, Torpoint, PL10 1HZ
The annual Classic Car Show and Country Fayre will take place at Mount Edgcumbe Country Park. Classic, American and kit cars will be on show along with military vehicles. Spectators Free entry to the event for spectators, parking charge of £5 per car. Car parks open at 8am.

The British Firework Championships will take place in Plymouth in August. Once again, six of the best UK firework display companies will compete in the hope of becoming the British Firework Champions for 2018. Liskeard Ploughman's Festival
A celebration of beer, food and music – The Parade and Westbourne Gardens, Liskeard. FREE ENTRY – BE THERE!
Beginning on The Parade, in Liskeard town centre, the event kicks off at 10am with a colourful street market of local foods including, cheeses, chutneys, pickles, breads and much much more including entertainment.

At 12 noon Liskeard’s hidden park – Westbourne Gardens – opens the gates for a fantastic feast of live music featuring bands and artists from all over South East Cornwall, the music plays until 7pm.

There will be a beer & cider tent, children’s workshops and local food stalls, including of course Ploughman’s lunches!
Seating is on the grass or on hay bales dotted around the park. Bring a blanket, chairs and picnic and ENJOY!
19 - 25 August Fowey Royal Regatta & Carnival WeekFowey Royal Regatta & Carnival Week
The Fowey Royal Regatta is hailed by many as one of the best local regattas in the country and is usually held over the third full week of August. Along with daily sailing races there are a number of other themed events mixed into the week including a midweek Carnival and ending with a spectacular Firework display over the harbour. 25 - 27 August Morval Vintage Steam RallyGreat Trethew Vintage Rally
We are planning to build on the success of last year’s rally by providing an on site tractor taxi and a free bus service from Liskeard Station and Looe Fire Station, to the rally. We are also planning to provide a larger selection of attractions for children, more traders stalls and a selection of demonstrations both in and outside of the main ring. Of course there will be:

Commercial, Steam and Military Vehicles
Vintage Tractors, Cars and Motorbikes
Steam Engines
Horticultural equipment and Stationary Engines
A Fun Dog Show on each day
Dog Flyball demonstrations
Craft and Country Demonstrations
Music, Live Bands and Entertainment
Children’s Entertainment
Graffiti Artist
Ferret Racing
On the working plots at the top of the Rally field we shall have working horses, demonstrations of horse shoeing, an old saw mill, working tractors and demonstrations of old horticultural equipment.

The team from Luke Furse Earthmoving will again be providing Tractor Pulling with their heavily modified machinery ranging from stock tractors to ones powered by tank and aeroplane engines. For all the latest details see www.trethewrally.uk
