The 2008 Gorseth Kernow comes to Looe on the 6th and 7th September. Competition classes for adults and young people in poetry, prose, Cornish studies, music, art and photography, culminating with processions, dancing and the choosing of the Bards.

10am – 5pm daily – join Falmouth as it welcomes a spectacular array of tall ships to the start of the Funchal 500 Tall Ships Regatta. You get a chance to step aboard these magnificent ships before they race onwards to the finishing line in the port of Funchal, Maderia. With street markets, concerts, theatre and fireworks. Experience & enjoy the peaceful river but look back to the time when the Lynher was a busy waterway. A 3 hr trip along a deserted tributary aboard a gaff-rigged, southwest, sailing boat. Friday 9am – 6pm, Saturday 9am – 6pm, Sunday 10am – 4pm – top Cornish food and drink suppliers will be on hand to show you the latest products at the food and drink marquee. Cooking demonstrations will run throughout the three day festival with some of Cornwall’s top chefs. Details on 01872 274555.
