mid -August tba Polperro Proms: HELP! We must be mad!
After much deliberation, and having solved some problems we have been experiencing over the past couple of years, the Committee has decided to hold another event in 2008. This will almost certainly be during the second half of August, but definite dates are not yet available as we are still investigating the availability of the numerous performers involved, and also the respective logistics of the venues available to us. We will of course post the dates and venue on the web site as soon as available.

Tue 12 – Wed 13 British Fireworks Championships Finals - Plymouth Hoe12th Annual British Fireworks Championships Finals - Plymouth Hoe / Plymouth Sound 9:30pm
Britain's largest live showcase of the fireworks industry. Six professional companies will be competing in the event - all determined to win the title British Fireworks Champions 2007.
Held every year in Plymouth, the event is being expanded with the launch of the Welsh National Firework Championships and the Scottish National Championships both of which will form heats for the British Firework Championships in Plymouth.
Each competitor will stage a 10-minute display. The fireworks will be fired from Mount Batten Breakwater with 4 spectacular displays each night. Plymouth Hoe is a wonderful location from which to watch the display.
The competition is staged annually to create a fun event for all the family.
In addition to the fireworks, there will be a funfair, stalls and a music stage run by 97FM Plymouth Sound, on the Hoe.
The city has the great benefit of the Hoe and Plymouth Sound providing a huge natural ampi-theatre and can claim to be the most spectacular free event-taking place in the area. Nowhere in Britain can beat the site we have here in Plymouth.
Parking is available on Plymouth Hoe for Blue Badge holders via Elliot Street Entrance and will be on a first come first served basis.
For further information please visit the British Firework Championships website. www.britishfireworks.co.uk/
