Drawn
to the Valley:
Free event in spectacular scenery, starts August Bank
Holiday weekend.
Fifty four professional artists of the Tamar Valley open their doors to
you. The public is welcomed into the private working space of the
artist, to see the art and chat about working processes and
inspirations. Work is for sale at reasonable prices, and meeting the
artist will greatly enhance your experience as a buyer. Despite starting
in the aftermath of the Foot and Mouth Crisis over seven years ago, this
largely self-funded group is still thriving; feeding into the local
creative economy.
Anywhere along the banks of the Tamar is a good centre from which to
start your cultural journey. Explore the slow pleasure of hidden areas
of unspoilt scenery, on both Cornwall and Devon sides of the river, from
Launceston down to the Rame Peninsula. Stop for a pasty or cream tea en
route. It is free to browse for as long as you like and take your time
to choose painters, ceramicists, jewellers and many other skilled
practitioners;
