Celebrate Christmas at the Looe Festive
‘Grazing on the Quay’
Taste
the best of South East Cornwall AND meet Santa and his helper in Looe
Fishmarket on Sunday 23rd December from 11am – 3pm.

of Barclay House Hotel said, “ This latest Grazing on the Quay is
just one of our year long programme of foodie events, but with a Xmas
twist.” “Santa will be on hand dispensing some Christmas chocolate
lolly treats for the children and the opportunity to win a delicious
sweetie hamper from Purely Cornish Deli for the most unusual or
appropriate name for Santas little helper Elf.”
Restaurants and food
and drink producers of South East Cornwall invite you to sample the best
of local produce AND enjoy the Christmas atmosphere accompanied by the
ladies of the St Piran Singers, proudly named after Cornwalls' Patron
Saint. The choir is led by Musical Director Danny Gill, and
internationally acclaimed Accompanist Elizabeth Sidebotham.
You might even pick up a last minute present from the array of goodies
on offer from Purely Cornish Deli including their ‘pick your own’
Christmas Hampers, pates, chutneys, jams, biscuits and sweets and of
course some Cornish Lust and Cornish Nevek chocolate cream liqueur. 'Nevek
means heavenly in Cornish'
The Chocolate Dream Company will
have THREE! chocolate fountains in a `cascading chocolate` display -
milk, white and dark with strawberry, marshmallow and fresh cream
filled profiteroles to dip. Also, a display of Chocolate Dream
Christmas boxed and decorated chocolates and bags of dipped fudge for
sale.
Participating restaurants
include the Old Sail Loft Restaurant who will be frying their
celebrated Festival Fish Cakes and Pears Poached in Mulled wine.
Trawlers on the Quay hope to tempt with their Cornish saffron fish
pie and traditional festive stolen. Couchs Great House Restaurant
in Polperro aim to tickle the taste buds with a Rum crème brulee with
hot winterberry jam, or Crab and Parmesan or Cranberry and Herb Risotto.
Looe’s very own celebrity chef Nick Barclay of food4myholiday
will be offering a Cornish Chilli, Texas Style’ with Cotehele Flour
Cornbread Muffins, The Bywater hope to keep the chills away with
a winter warming beef stew and chocolate brownies. Barclay House
Hotel hope to warm the cockles of the heart with a tasty Fish Soup
and The Five a Day Soup Company aim to tempt grazers with their
Soupa Doupa Roast Tomato & Red Pepper, Squash & Horseradish, Sweet
Potato & Parsnip, Carrot and Coriander soups - Soupa for Christmas
Dinner starters!

and producers taking part include, Trelaske Hotel & Restaurant,
recent winners of an AA Rosette for food excellence,
Sargents Butchers,
Bocaddon Farm Veal and Treleavans Ice Cream.

Mark Napper will also be featuring his own
recipe home baked breads on the 23rd, as demonstrated by him at his
regular Master classes at Trawlers, and featured in 'Inside Cornwall' -
next Bread Making Master class at 11am Wednesday 30th January, followed
by lunch at Trawlers on the Quay.
The grazing is just one of a number of events that aim to raise the
profile of fine dining in Looe & Polperro through the TASTE South
East Cornwall brand and encourage people to buy locally produced
food and drink.
Tastings at £2 per portion won’t
stretch your wallet, but may stretch your waistband!
Grazing is from 11am – 3pm Sunday 23rd December Looe Fish Market, East
Expect a Christmassy atmosphere and plenty of festive cheer!
